Ringgit opened down may 18 2012

forex trading outlook today - Ringgit opened down may 18 2012 : The ringgit opened lower against the US dollar in early trading Friday on concerns over the possibility of Greece leaving the euro zone due to political uncertainties can cause catastrophic consequences to the global economy, dealers said.

The ringgit fell the most among Asian currencies, according to data compiled by foreign wires. The ringgit was traded at 3.1310/1341 against the US dollar from 3.1085/1115 yesterday.

The local currency was also lower against the Singapore dollar at 2.4586/4617 from 2.4581/4607 and weaker against the yen at 3.9418/9487 from 3.8692/8734 yesterday.

The ringgit was however traded higher against the British pound at 4.9392/9453 from 4.9403/9460 yesterday but lower against the euro at 3.9739/9794 from 3.9525/9572 Thursday.
